Terms of Service — Curio: AI Engineer Map

1 Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and Gopal Bagaswar ("Developer", "we", "us", "our"), the individual developer of Curio: AI Engineer Map ("App", "Curio").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age (or the applicable age of majority in your jurisdiction), have read these Terms, and agree to be legally bound by them. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

Apple and Google Platforms These Terms are between you and Gopal Bagaswar only, not Apple Inc. or Google LLC. Apple and Google are not responsible for the App or its content. Apple's and Google's standard end-user license terms apply as a minimum floor alongside these Terms.

2 Description of Service

Curio: AI Engineer Map is a personalized AI engineering learning companion application. The App provides:

Structured daily study plans and curriculum for AI engineering topics
Flashcards with a spaced repetition learning system
Quizzes and knowledge assessments
Curated YouTube video and podcast references
Build tasks and project prompts
Glossary of AI engineering terms
Interview preparation guides
Focus timer for study sessions
Streak tracking and XP-based gamification
Curriculum import via JSON file
Optional iCloud sync (iOS only, user-initiated)

The App is available for iOS (bundle ID: com.gopal.Curio) and Android (package: com.gopal.curio).

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the App at any time, with or without notice.

3 License to Use

Grant of license

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Gopal Bagaswar grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, limited license to download and use the App on devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial educational purposes.

License restrictions

You may not, and may not permit others to:

Copy, modify, translate, adapt, or create derivative works of the App
Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App
Sublicense, sell, resell, transfer, assign, or otherwise exploit the App commercially
Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or branding in the App
Use the App for any purpose other than your personal learning

Platform terms

Your use of the App on iOS is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Your use on Android is subject to Google Play's terms of service.

4 Intellectual Property

Ownership

The App, including its code, design, user interface, graphics, text, educational content, curriculum structure, gamification system, and all other components, is the exclusive intellectual property of Gopal Bagaswar and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

Curriculum content

The curated AI engineering curriculum, topic sequences, flashcard content, quiz questions, glossary definitions, and build task prompts included in the App are original works by Gopal Bagaswar. They are licensed to you for personal use only and may not be reproduced, distributed, or published without written permission.

User-imported content

If you import a custom curriculum via the JSON import feature, you represent that you have the right to use that content. Imported content remains your property or that of its original owner. Gopal Bagaswar makes no claim to content you import.

Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas regarding the App, you grant Gopal Bagaswar a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use that feedback for any purpose, including improving the App, without obligation to compensate you.

5 User Content

Curio stores notes, study journal entries, and other content you create ("User Content") locally on your device. Because all User Content is stored locally and is never transmitted to us, you retain full ownership and responsibility for your User Content.

If you enable optional CloudKit sync (iOS), your User Content is synced to your personal iCloud account and is subject to Apple's terms. Gopal Bagaswar does not access, review, or store your User Content on any servers.

6 Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the App to:

Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or networks
Transmit malware, viruses, or any harmful code
Interfere with the proper functioning of the App
Use automated tools to access, scrape, or extract App content
Circumvent any technical measures or license restrictions
Impersonate Gopal Bagaswar or misrepresent your affiliation with Curio

7 Third-Party Content and Links

The App may include references to external resources, including YouTube videos, podcast episodes, articles, and documentation. These links are provided for your convenience as part of the curated curriculum.

We are not responsible for third-party content Curio has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, accuracy, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party websites or services. Accessing external resources is at your own risk, and such access is governed by the terms and privacy policies of the respective third parties.

The inclusion of a link to an external resource does not imply our endorsement of, or affiliation with, that resource or its owner.

8 Disclaimers

AS-IS BASIS. The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, reliability, or non-infringement. Gopal Bagaswar does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

Educational content

The curriculum, flashcards, quiz questions, and educational materials in Curio are intended solely for personal learning and do not constitute professional advice. Curio does not guarantee that completing the curriculum will result in any particular career outcome, job placement, certification, or level of competence.

AI engineering field

The field of artificial intelligence and machine learning evolves rapidly. While we strive to keep curriculum content current, some material may become outdated. You are encouraged to verify information against current industry sources.

Data retention

Curio is not responsible for loss of data due to device failure, operating system updates, accidental deletion, or other circumstances. We strongly recommend enabling device backups or CloudKit sync (iOS) to prevent data loss.

9 Limitation of Liability

Important limitation To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Gopal Bagaswar shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use or inability to use the App.

This includes, without limitation, damages for:

Loss of data, progress, streaks, or other App content
Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities
Cost of substitute goods or services
Any inaccuracy in educational content
Unauthorized access to your locally stored data
Any other matter relating to the App

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, Gopal Bagaswar's liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. In all cases, the total aggregate liability of Gopal Bagaswar to you for any claims arising from or related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (or, if the App was free, zero dollars / zero rupees).

10 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Gopal Bagaswar from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

Your use of or inability to use the App
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any third-party rights
Any content you import into the App that infringes a third party's rights

11 Termination

These Terms are effective until terminated by either party. Your license to use the App terminates automatically if you fail to comply with any provision of these Terms. You may terminate these Terms at any time by deleting the App from your device.

Gopal Bagaswar reserves the right to discontinue the App or restrict access to it at any time, without notice and without liability, for any reason including discontinuation of the project.

Upon termination, the sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law) shall continue to apply.

12 Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Jurisdiction

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India. If you are accessing the App from outside India, you are responsible for compliance with local laws.

Informal resolution

Before initiating any formal legal proceeding, you agree to first contact us at the address in Section 14 and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will make a good-faith effort to resolve the matter within 30 days of receiving your notice.

Apple and Google

Notwithstanding the foregoing, Apple Inc. and Google LLC are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms with respect to App Store and Google Play distribution, and may enforce these Terms against you. Any maintenance and support obligations for the App are the sole responsibility of Gopal Bagaswar, not Apple or Google.

13 Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this document and provide notice within the App on the next launch following the update.

Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, your only recourse is to stop using the App and delete it from your device.

We recommend reviewing these Terms periodically. The current version is always available within the App and on the App's store listing pages.
