Frequently Asked Questions

How do I import a curriculum?

Open any LLM (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini), paste the mega-prompt Curio generates for you, copy the JSON response, and paste it into Curio's import screen. The app handles the rest.

Can I study more than one topic?

Yes! Curio supports up to 2 active Learning Realms at once. Each realm has its own curriculum, XP, streaks, and progress. Archive a realm to free up a slot.

How does spaced repetition work?

Curio uses the SM-2 algorithm (same as Anki). Rate flashcards Again/Hard/Good/Easy and Curio schedules the next review at the optimal moment before you forget.

Is my data stored in the cloud?

All data is stored locally on your device first. If iCloud is enabled, Curio syncs across Apple devices via CloudKit. No data is sent to third-party servers.

Does Curio work offline?

Yes! Flashcards, quizzes, build tasks, and Feynman sessions all work offline. Only YouTube videos and weekly sync need internet.

Can I use any LLM?

Absolutely. Curio is LLM-agnostic — works with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or any model that outputs JSON.

Troubleshooting

JSON import isn't working

Copy the complete JSON output from your LLM. If import fails, ask your LLM to "output only the raw JSON with no explanation."

My streak disappeared

Streaks reset if you miss a day without using a streak freeze. Each realm gets one free freeze per week.

iCloud sync isn't working

Ensure iCloud is enabled in Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud. Sync may take a few minutes on first setup.
